March of the Mods in Worthing
Published Date: 14 July 2009
THE music of Paul Weller and Steve Marriot is being combined on stage for the first time at Worthing’s Assembly Hall.
March of the Mods celebrates the original 60s Mods and the 70s Revival with two bands who pay homage to the Small Faces and Paul Weller’s The Jam.
Wellalive perform songs from Paul Weller’s days with The Jam and The Style Council through to his solo material for which he was honoured with a 2009 BRIT award for Best Male Solo Artist.
The Small Fakers have been making a name for themselves as the primary tribute to the Small Faces.
Recent highlights have included performing at the Isle of Wight Festival, the Carnaby Street Small Faces plaque unveiling, the conventions and playing at the birthday party for the band’s bass player Ronnie Lane.
Playing classic Mod anthems such as Small Faces’ Itchycoo Park, Lazy Sunday and Tin Soldier, as well as Paul Weller’s evocative hits In the City, Beat Surrender and You’re the Best Thing, March of the Mods will bring the excitement of Carnaby Street to Worthing.
