Mr. Weller is back with another tasty treat from his upcoming album, “Fat Pop (Volume 1).” The very soulful tune, “Glad Times” is the second track getting a preview. It’s a collaboration with UK duo, White Label (Tom Doyle & Anth Brown).
Paul would make his customary appearance on Later… with Jools Holland and perform the song. Unfortunately, breaking from custom because of the pandemic, the performance was recorded at Paul’s Black Barn Studio in Surrey. Although the lush orchestrations of the LP version are really spectacular, the stripped down nature of the performance here reveals a deeply beautiful soul song reminiscent of the best of Marvin Gaye. Just wonderful!!!
